Dunwoody's Perimeter Corridor: What the Office Parks Actually Need
Dunwoody sits at the center of the Perimeter submarket, the dense ring of corporate office parks that grew up around I-285 and GA-400 from the mid-1980s through the early 2000s. Those buildings, primarily class-A and class-B office towers in the Hammond Drive, Ashford Dunwoody Road, and Mount Vernon Road corridors, were wired during the Category 5 era. The horizontal cabling is a generation behind, and the telecom rooms were sized for the voice-cabling infrastructure of that period, not for today's structured data requirements.
Many Dunwoody buildings in the Perimeter submarket are managed by national property managers under long-term lease agreements, and the landlord side and tenant side of a cabling upgrade need to be coordinated carefully.
